Kanye, I’mma let you finish but for the love of god, please hurry up.
The never-ending wait for new music continues. Kanye West’s latest album, which was slated to drop in the last week of September, has been pushed back again.
West’s wife and the mother of social media, Kim Kardashian, shared an Instagram story with fans announcing the album Jesus is King would be available on Sunday 29 September. However, when the day rolled around there was nary a peep from the Kardashian-West camp and the album remains as elusive as ever.
For many fans, this is just the latest in what has been a year of anticipation and disappointment. West had originally titled the album Yandhi and hinted it would be released in September 2018. When the day arrived, however, ‘Ye pulled the plug, announcing the tracks needed further work.
With the latest non-arrival, many fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment.
Now the Jesus is King album is reported to be the first in his departure from rap. Earlier this year, he announced the album would be a Christian gospel album. The theme should come as no surprise as he’s been touring a Sunday service throughout America in the past months, even bringing it to Coachella.
No word yet on when we can expect the album, if at all. If you want to be the first in the know, we recommend following Kim on Instagram. The social media legend seems to have taken unofficially the reigns on his music marketing over the last 12 months.
Fingers crossed we see the album after a few more days and the great Kanye drought will be over.
What are you expecting from the new album?
